Regina has a New disc, "I'll Be Seeing You: A Sentimental Journey" coming out June 13…but we've got our hands on it now, so we're going to listen to it and chat with her about it. She also recently debuted a newly commissioned work called "Black Bottom" at Jazz at Lincoln Center with fellow Detroiter Barry Harris, so that fodder for conversation also. There's a lot to chat with this great Jazzer…so tune in and check it out.

Regina is also playing Day 2 of the 2006 Playboy Jazz Festival, June 17-18, 2006 at the Hollywood Bowl, so we'll be chatting a bit about that upcoming experience for her.

The Playboy Jazz Festival Weblog Live On! Long Live The Playboy Jazz Festival!

I'm launching The Playboy Jazz Festival for 2006 (and beyond) as a WordPress.com weblog. And I've just bought three domain names that are all going to bring fellow fans of this great annual festival to this source of news, interviews, pictures, audio, and FUN!

A great trio of names…but first to serious business and respects…First, there was The Playboy Jazz Festival Weblog (2002), Version 1. I started this weblog in 2002 to document the riotus fun that always occurs surrounding this event, both in the lead-up…which was none when I was just a young pup guest of Jeff F. in the late 1990s and early 2Ks, and is now substantial as I interview festival artists Live on my weekly radio show The New Jazz Thing in the weeks leading up to the show…and in the FULL ON WEEKEND IN JUNE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL!! Each year we are covering the show in new ways, with live camera phone shots, live mobile audio updates from back-stage and back-of-the-Bowl (where we all know the REAL PARTY IS). And we start this new era paying homage to where we've been with PBJF Weblog, V1.0., the weblog software that got us there (Radio Userland), and a promise to provide blogroll linkage on this new weblog home page to classic moments from PBJF's past…and there are plenty of good times to roll!
